Courses specialising in Paediatric Tui Na are rare in the UK.  The aim of our specialist Diploma in Xiao Er Tui Na (Little person Tui Na) is to produce fully competent, professional practitioners in treating babies, infants and young children through medical massage. The course is aimed at those already qualified in Chinese Medicine, Acupuncture or standard Tui Na, and gives the practitioner the opportunity of expanding their clinical practice to include this fascinating and rewarding therapy.

The course will examine the physiological and pathological characteristics of children in relation to Chinese Medicine, as well as paediatric diagnoses, assessment and treatment. Practitioners will be encouraged to bring individual clinical cases for discussion and encouraged to support each other through online discussion and support groups under the supervision which will be extended after graduation in the form of a mentoring program.

Acupuncture is a traditional Chinese method of natural healing by inserting extremely fine needles into certain areas beneath the skin and manipulating them. It has been used safely and successfully in treating disease for over 3000 years and recent extensive studies in the UK show there to be no serious side effects. It’s rationale is that when the body is diseased and out of balance, the manipulation of needles at certain points located along the body regulates the flow of vital energy (qi) and blood, and therefore restores balance to the organs and tissues.
